L'Argoat sits 3 minutes walk below and west of the Brevent bubble lift giving direct access into the Brevents-Flegere lifts - the largest area in the valley. Very locally there's a bar, restaurant and ski shop near the Brevent lift station. An equally short 3 minute walk brings you to the main street in Chamonix (Rue Dr Piccard) with all its bars, restaurants and shops.
Easily accessed by car (parking provided) the apartments are only a few minutes walk from the reliable Chamonix bus services.
Getting here by air...
The most convenient airport for access to Chamonix is Geneva; it is just 1 hours drive. Most airlines such as BA, SwissAir, Easyjet and Jet2 fly from most major UK airports to Geneva. Other airport options are Turin (1½ hour through the Mont-Blanc Tunnel), Milan (about 2½ hours throught the Mont-Blanc Tunnel) and Lyon (about 3 hours drive). If you do travel into Geneva there are numerous car hire and transfer services available. We are always happy to advise on reliable transfer companies. If you decide to hire a car in the winter be sure to specify that you need a 'winter pack' (snow tyres or snow chains).
Getting here by car...
- From Geneva the drive is very straight forward.
- Once you leave the airport follow the green motorway signs for France.
- The E62-A1-E25 motorway will take you directly to the French/Swiss boarder (douane/customs).
- Once you are over the boarder follow the A40 motorway in the direction of Chamonix Mont-Blanc (left lane after the douane).
- As you come into Chamonix you will pass through 2 tunnels and then onto a roundabout.
- Right takes you to the Mont Blanc tunnel, straight on towards Chamonix.
- At the next roundabout turn left following the sign towards the Aiguille du Midi.
- Go straight across two roundabouts in short succession - and across a bridge over the river.
- At the third roundabout go across/slightly to the right.
- You should have the "Cha-cha-cha" wine shop to your right.
- You'll see (about 100 metres along) the Hotel Prieure (large, white) on your left with a break in the central barrier.
- Turn left there and go straight up the hill.
- Almost at the top you will see a pole with a red top - turn into the garden on your right there.
